Editing Pronunciation in Namecheck

To edit your name pronunciation on the Namecheck Platform, follow the instructions below.

Please note, this is for Namecheck only. If your University is hosting a virtual ceremony or providing virtual clips, you will enter your pronunciation when uploading your photos and videos. Those instructions can be found here.

Navigate to the Login page by clicking the URL provided by your University. Login by entering your email address and student ID.

You can listen to your name pronunciation by clicking on the "Listen" button. (Be sure the sound is turned up on your device.) If the pronunciation is correct, simply click on the green "Confirm" button.

If the pronunciation is not correct, click on "Edit Pronunciation"

To edit your pronunciation, type in the phonetic spelling and click on "Listen". You can change the phonetic spelling as many times as you need to until the name sounds correct.

If you prefer, you can click on the "Switch to Self-Record" toggle to record your spoken name.

Once you are happy with the way your name sounds, either in your own recording or by using the phonetic spelling, click on the green "Confirm" button.
